The Course of Events On Graduation Day.

On 17th Dec. 2009 was the day that all Zanzibits students have been waited for the final Graduation.
The Graduation begun around 4:00pm and after MC Salama and Wilson welcomed all the guests in the hall, it was the time of class representatives Hakeem and Zainab went on the stage in order to thank all Zanzibits Staffs for their help of teaching us until we finished without any misunderstanding between us and them.
After that it was the time for every student to go on the wonderful stage to portray his or her works on the nicely big screen.
Then after, followed by the time of taking our certificate to the Major of Zanzibar City, after that we carried on for the rest seven students to present their works as the first ones did, then followed by the guest from abroad to give some presents as a congratulation to us for what we did during our class time.
After all all these events took place, so that I can say it was the end of of our Graduation for that day.

Another Proficiency on Eid El Hadj.

We had another brilliant Friday for welcoming Eid El Hadj for both Zanzibits students, staffs and Al-Riyamy Academy.
There was a fantastic friendly football match at Mnazi Mmoja pitch between Zanzibits School and Al-Riyamy Academy, it was very great and funny game and half time we led two nil (2-0) scored by Said and some of their spectacles already discourage on half time and started to leave at the ground.
So that we carried on second half and this time the game was really nice and competitive so every side played safely and more frequently attacks got in touch in their side and the final whistle Zanzibits 4 Al-Riyamy 1.
The scorers were Said who scored hat-rick and my self I scored one goal.

It was another wonderful friday in Zanzibar Island many peoples attended at Stone Town Streets in Forodhani Garden and I think this is going to be the historical day of the country.
Zanzibar got a golden chance to be visited by World Cup sponsored by Cocacola in Forodhani Garden.
I was one among the funs who went there and I saw it vividly with my own eyes and some other guys got an opportunity to take photo with it but my self and I could never get a chance to make it because I had no complimentary.

Increasing Experience.

This week we had a wonderful lessons from our two guest teachers.
They come to share with us their knowledge that they have, so that we increased our skills of learning through their experience they acquired.

Media Lab.

After mini graduation of course three, we carried out everything and we begun course four which is called Media Lab, in media lab we have been doing consecutive works for example like how to play with codes, making a blog, and web company, CSS (Cascading Style Sheet), CMS (Content Management System) and how it works, designing poster, business card and logo, how Database functions, FTP (File Transfer Protocol), Java and JavaScript, so compare to the previous courses in Media Lab more upheavals were made especially in designing and developing websites.
At the beginning of this course we took up how to market yourself, its difficult for the first time to introduce it in front of the audience if you did not make plan for it, because before you do anything, the first thing you should do is to think, may be for instance which business that you are going to establish or sell, make planning, then come up with unique name of your business in order to attracts the clients then you need to think about your clients and ask your yourself, what and whom do you want to sell and in which way do they accept it, does this has merits or demerits.
After that, we started the project of Web Company and designing some products of the same company like poster, business card and logo, so that for the time being we still continuing with this assignment.
On 26th August, we begun to create personal blog but before this, we did an assignment of mind mapping so as to challenge mind for what we are going to post in our blogs so we needed to think more and more.

Archiving the Goals.

Visit Chumbe Island.

Zanzibits Team.

It’s believed that, Zanzibar is the one among the most beautiful island in East Africa that is surrounded by many other isles. I got an opportunity to come over the fantastic unique island, Always I have been hearing about Chumbe but nothing could have prepared me for the beauty of the island, the magnificent coral reefs, the amazing bungalows, delicious food, staffs hospitality and many more. So we took up journey to move there and the boat took approximately half an hour to get there, it was no tide and so we did not have to wade very long, we were greeted by rangers when we got to Chumbe, the rangers take us up to the visitors centre and gave an introduction about the island and the project that running there, I was utterly amazed of the traditional architecture of the Bungalows, chairs and a tables, downstairs a hammock, upstairs the bedroom and obligatory mosquito net, bulb and little fan by the bed which is charged by the solar panel during the day.
The bungalows are all men-made features, using locally wood and traditional techniques. The roofs are funnel shaped to trap, filter and store the rainwater for the last longer. The composting toilet did not smell and I expected basically, a hole in the ground but it looked like a proper western toilet. The rangers explain how to utilize them, this was nice trip which deserved more attention to us.

Shortly after, we went to see and learn about marine environmental conservation, it was wonderful lesson and we understood the way how they conserved marine environment and in which way does Chumbe Island used to get and preserve water for domestic purposes and later usage, since there are absences of water tapes, streams, wells and what if they dag the land they could get sea water so that what they could have done so as to get softly and freshly water? This question came to us and I was the one who answered it correctly, the answer was, “they should have to wait until the rain coming, after get it they should make it filtration process using lime stone, consequently they can get soft water” that’s all, so that this is the good answer that they wanted to hear from us.

Afterward, we went snorkeling to see coral reef and other different sea creatures, you can not believe what I had seen there, firstly when I took a look I sprained, the coral is stunning, there were something magically and very impressed to me that I never seen search before instead watching on television, there are more than millions of beautiful sea creatures and nice environment under water compare to dry lands.
My trip to Chumbe Island was changing something more comfortable so I brought a new appreciation for the life away from the experience.
I appreciate CHICOP a lot for keeping this as a little paradise in Zanzibar, this trip was really cheered me up and unforgettable one.

What I did in course three.
Do not amaze or being concentrate more on above word "IN-IL-EV-AC" this means "INNOVATE, ILLUMUNATE, EVALUATE and ACTIVATE, these are four steps of creativity.
Since we are the designers and according to what we did in this course.
It was good series of sessions for us rather than previous one, we studied hard,
so here we took up developing slowly, slowly and we did more changes compare to the last courses, we had an opportunity to know something new about multimedia and different things that support interactivity and how to interact with them and even the environment that associates flora and fauna themselves.
Also we learnt about time management and how sound effects the environment, multimedia tools, kinds of interactivity and its merits generally.

I am very much interested in developing website using Dreamweaver software, because in this course we advanced a bit in designing and developing a website,
I am also proudly myself on this, because each and every one has created unique neighborhood website and we have done five projects of cultural website by groups and my group consists of three members included Said (photographer), Elizabeth (animator) and I (designer).

Zanzibits Film Production.
In Zanzibar, film industry is less advanced compare to Tanzania Mainland East Africa and the rest of the world.
On 04th of June 2009, we begun to study about film, here we understood many things concerned about it, long and short film including editing process, how to film, responsibilities of the directors, producers, editors, cameramen, actors, animators and such-and-such,
but the aim of Zanzibits is to teach short film (animations or cartoons).
We made five animation films in groups, my group consists of three members included Ashraff (directors), Elizabeth (animator) and I (cameraman and story maker), the rest works we done together and our story called “mouse, cat and cassava).
Afterward, we got an opportunity to show our films on ZIFF exhibitions 2009 in Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe) and also we post them on YouTube website in order to advertise our films to the entire world.

In Zanzibits, also we learnt about photograph and how to take good and quality pictures, how light affects pictures and it’s properties, different kinds of light, how to use camera applications and many more concerned about it.

Before joining Zanzibits School Center for Film and Multimedia, I learnt computer course in Suza (The State University of Zanzibar) located at Vuga street then after finishing there, I joined with Zanzibits after passed well the twice interview.
On 13th of January 2009, we started the course one called "Behind the Screen" that was concerned with introduction to computer, a bit microsoft word, exel and power point and more about photoshop, how to surf in the internet and getting online using the different browser, you know what, because some of students knew nothing about internet surfing even computer it self.
Since I was starting design of different things in Photoshop software, I got more experience of designing like business cards, banners, logos, post cards, posters, brochures and many more about designing but initially I knew nothing about designing in this software instead of drawing different things on A4 or A3 papers using pencils and pens.

But now I am very interesting with this software and always I am increasing my talent of designing in Photoshop.
On 06th of February 2009, this was the end of the course one so we did mini graduation and enjoyed a lot, so that we waited for result in order to continue in next course.

Course two.
We started course two on 25th of March, at the first time in this course we studied how colors relate each other, kinds of colors, color wheel, color and personality, this means the meaning of different colors and also we knew the different methods of using combination colors and how bright, warm, light, cool, dark colors express themselves.
According to the environment that surrounds human beings, it seem that colors have effects, send messages and express different perspectives to the entire world.
Apart from colors also we learnt about shapes and lines and their behaviors, shapes are about perceptions, language, influence our imaginations and many more, and how create a story board. Also space and composition, space is a part of learning so we learnt the types of spaces which are physical space personal space and visual space and how we can use them in different activities in our life.
